Nature and the environment have always been a cornerstone in my life.  Over time my knowledge and appreciation for nature has grown tremendously.  My interest in natural and organic beauty products and food began serendipitously about 6 years ago as I came to the conclusion that the hair products I was using just were not working for me.  After doing substantial research, I realized I wasn’t alone.

Not only were the products I was using ineffective and detrimental to my hair, they were laden with chemicals that have either been proven or suspected of being carcinogens, hormone disruptors, comedogenic, and toxic to the human body and environment.  This was simply unacceptable.  My journey began as someone looking for effective hair products, however, I soon realized that the efficacy of the products I was using was strongly correlated to the ingredients it contained.  My focus on hair products then shifted to all the cosmetics I was using, from lotions to nail polish, which too were laden with toxic chemicals.  In my search for high quality, non-toxic, effective beauty products I learned that reading the ingredients was a necessity, as attention grabbing labels were nothing more than misleading marketing strategies.  Food, packaged and produce, were no better and were filled with questionable additives, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), and non-nourishing, refined junk.

I have learned quite a bit about beauty products and food on my journey.  My hope is that by sharing this information I can help to empower others to purchase products that not only work for them but are not toxic to their health, while reducing the human impact on our pulchritudinous natural environment in the process.
